![]() ![]() they mostly relate to bossintros or things changed from base NT (portraits for boss intros are tied to the base game menu option) I put some spoilers, credits to other people whose code i used, and links to my stuff in the readme Planned to type more but i'm not a linguist *cough, i have a twitter and take art/mod commissions, please give me money to draw for you*. The goal was to elongate Loop 0 to be as long/hard as a Loop 2 run in base nuclear throne. Only 5 playable characters, with no customization for their loadouts.♦each area is 2 stages longer, generally (5 stage desert, 3 stage sewers, so on) Great character, weapon, environment, and enemy design.Ģnd player has to play with one specific character. Some of the most beautiful pixel art in the industry. Good character, weapon, and enemy design.ĭaily challenges to keep the community involved.Įxtremely ham-handed difficulty scaling (Being insta-gibbed isn't fun in a roguelike, ever) ![]() ![]() ![]() I've played these games quite a bit, here's my pro/con list: I feel like Binding of Isaac: Rebirth or Afterbirth are a much more realistic comparison to EtG. NT is great if you're into stuff like playing Unreal Tournament on Insta-Gib mode. While both ARE unique, In my opinion Enter the Gungeon is on a whole other level from Nuclear Throne. But playing Gungeon again after Nuclear Throne blew my mind since it runs silk smooth compared to NT. I put over 100 hours into it and the last 50 hours of that I wasn't even having fun anymore, just stubbornly trying to beat it (well, loop the game 2nd time) before I just stopped caring.Īlso it has that 30 fps thing, though you do get used to it after a while. The game is very good at making you salty, and will take every opportunity to hit you below the belt. The game's difficulty seems like a random mess to me. Your own shots being reflected back at you from offscreen for an instant death, an enemy van spawning from thin air to drive over you for an insta death, etc. Things just happen that are often out of your control (near impossible spawns) and you can go from full hp to death in seconds. Nuclear Throne is way, way harder than Enter the Gungeon. I had beaten Enter the Gungeon and done all the achievements, so I decided to give Nuclear Throne a try since it seemed very similar. ![]()
